We have extensively researched and surveyed the distinct needs and concerns of the K-9 officer and our findings have concluded that most K-9 vests are heavy, cumbersome, excessive in size, and difficult to suit quickly. Officers also expressed that a tracking harness could not be worn effectively with a standard K-9 vest making handling during track work and apprehension a serious obstacle. The majority of officers also expressed that standard vests excessively generate and retain body heat making the vest difficult to be worn for an extended period of time.
