Lenexa Kansas Police Departments New K9 - Speedy...
K9 Speedy getting measured for his new vest... Speedy is so quick, even the camera can't keep up. Speedy is a 3 year old Belgian Malinios. Purchased from a vendor out of San Antonio, TX. Speedy originally came from Holland where he received an IPO III title. Speedy has been trained to serve the Lenexa Police Department in detecting narcotics and apprehending fleeing suspects. Speedy's handler is Ofc. Jim Harris. Ofc. Harris has been a K9 handler for a year and a half with the Lenexa Police Department.
Special thanks to our friend Kristine Larsen who took it upon herself to lead the fundraising task force in Lenexa making it possible to vest Speedy so quickly. We will be presenting K9 Speedy with his new Amorlite bullet proof vest on Oct 21 at the Lenexa city hall council chambers at 7pm.
